From Graham Tudor about photographs on the NFD page.

I have had input regarding two of the NFD photos. Regarding Sgt/Major Ketsane at Isiolo, he was my S/M for some time and was a senior NCO of the old school and the backbone of the other rank element of the old KP. He was a Garissa Somal of the Telemugagh branch and if alive, which I doubt, would now squirm at what is happening in Somalia (and Northern Kenya) today. He retired about 1958 when the "literate" element came in which was not his scene.

Those who visited the old Equator Club at Nairobi will recognise the Turkhana chief as the full length picture as you entered the front door of the club. It was taken and developed by David Hewison the Chief Photographer of the "Scenes of Crime". It was, as was S/M Ketsane, taken in my Isiolo garden. An interesting anecdote into this picture is that on the morning of the picture the chief forgot to bring his ivory lower lip globe, What you see on the photo is a piece carved from a tablet of Palmolive soap from my bathroom fixed with a paper clip!
